The Inn at Church Landing in Meredith, NH will again be the site of the New Hampshire Dental Society's Annual Meeting May 17-19, 2012.

Who: Dentists in New Hampshire will join thousands of dentists across the country to take time from their practices to help underserved children receive free oral health care.
What: Give Kids A Smile is an annual one-day volunteer initiative to provide free educational, preventive and restorative services to children from low-income families
Why: To focus attention on the epidemic of untreated oral disease among disadvantaged children and to deliver the message that dentists alone can’t solve this problem. They also need a real commitment from government and society.
When: Starting Friday, February 3, 2012

Schedule of Dental Continuing Education Courses at NHTI in Concord. |
The Spring scheule of courses for Continuing Dental Education Couses have been announced. Please go here for the entire schedule. The following programs are being highlighted:
- “Tools for Success in the Dental Office - Introduction to the Dental Practice”
Lynnea Adams, CDA, BA offers nine sessions on dental practice topics over a 3 month period. Participants can enroll in the entire series, or choose sessions best suited to their needs. Front office staff who must be familiar with terminology and the daily operation of a dental practice, dental assistants and dental hygienists desiring an increased understanding of administrative office procedures, and/or individuals preparing for employment in the dental office or dental insurance industry will find this series useful.
- “Bridging the Gap: Tips for Treating a Patient with Autism”
Karen Raposa, BSDH, MBA will review Autism Spectrum Disorder and help practitioners better understand these unique clients. This program is offered as part of the Public Health Certificate program, but is open to all dental professionals.
- “Mind Your Body: Health & Wellness for the Dental Health Professional, Part II”
Maggie Ray, RDH, MEd and Lisa Malfait, RDH, MEd, NHTI Faculty team up to discuss practical approaches to maintaining physical and mental health on the job. Ergonomic product design, occupational health problems, and postural positioning are just a few topics explored in this course. Attendance at Part I of this course is not required and once again, all dental professionals may attend.
